Elizabeth Rose Stegora passed away on February 13, 2012 in Brainerd, Minnesota at the age of 90. Elizabeth was born on December 21, 1921 in Elmdale, Minnesota to Frank and Stella Firkus. Elizabeth married Frank Stegora on February 1, 1941 in Harding, MN and they had four children.

Betty is survived by son Robert (Linda), Minneapolis, MN; daughters Judi Vopatek, Brainerd and Carol (Jim) Johns, Harmony, MN; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother Clarence Firkus, Pierz and sister Maxine (Sunny) Bednar, Pierz; and sister-in-law Dorine Firkus, Eagle Bend.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, parents, daughter Barbara Behnke, grandson Christopher Johns, brother Frank, and sister Loretta Jamma.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. Interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
